Busiest Traffex Ever
|
|
|
With over 350 delegates receiving a demonstration of KTS products at Traffex
2009 it made it the busiest Traffex ever for us. For those delegates who dropped
by the stand we would like to thank you in helping us to achieve this success.
Of the number of delegates we demonstrated to there was a great mix between
existing customers looking at the latest product releases and new customers
interested in making use of the KTS leading edge highways software in their
organisation.
We were pleased to have the opportunity, at the show, to demonstrate to many
visitors the new release of KeyOSC, our map handling and plotting companion.
KeyOSC now stores MasterMap data in an Oracle database which uniquely enables
you to use seamless mapping within an AutoCAD environment providing users with a

AutoCAD 2010 Product Launched
|

The latest AutoCAD products, 2010, have been launched. Any customers with
licences covered by Autodesk Subscription will automatically receive the updated
software or they can be downloaded from the Autodesk subscription website.

KTS are currently testing all our products to ensure they are compatible with

AutoCAD Civil 3D Accreditation

1000th Copy of KeyLINES Sold
|

A significant milestone has been reached by KeyLINES, the favoured road marking
design software provided by Key Traffic systems. The 1000th copy has recently
been supplied to Sanderson Associates. Since 1989 KeyLINES has provided Highway
Engineers with the ability to produce road marking and traffic management
drawings quickly and easily within the AutoCAD environment whilst conforming to
the rules and regulations set out by the Department for Transport.
Sanderson Associates are a specialist firm of Highways, Traffic Transportation
and Water Consulting Engineers. They are the largest truly independent highway
development specialists in the United Kingdom and recognise the value of
investing in and maintaining the latest specialist software in order to help
them maintain this enviable position.

KTS Appoints New Managing Director
|
|
|
Following the retirement of Robert (Bob) Shepherd on 31st January Key Traffic
Systems is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Jeremy Ellis as Managing
Director.
Jeremy joined Key Traffic Systems in 1998 as the KeyACCIDENT product manager and
was appointed as Director in 2001 after being awarded a PhD in Computer Science
from the University of Hull.
Bob’s retirement comes after being Managing Director of Key Traffic Systems
since June 2003. Bob initially joined Key Systems in 1991 from Sheffield City
Council bringing with him KeySIGNALS he was then integral in the development of
many of the well known KTS product range. Bob was a founding Director of Key
Traffic Systems as it became an independent member of the Key Systems group.
Jeremy commented “I would personally like to thank Bob for his leadership over
the past four years it has been a pleasure to work together” he went on to
remark “I am very excited about the future of KTS, we are working on many new
projects and I look forward to bringing these to market to sustain our position
as providers of leading edge highways software”

KeyOSC - Making the Most of Mastermap Data
|
|
|
Key Traffic Systems have been working on upgrading their popular map handling
product KeyOSC, Key Ordnance Survey Companion, to store MasterMap data in a
central database that can be accessed by AutoCAD and corporate GISs. The new
version of KeyOSC will be available for preview at the Traffex 2007 exhibition
held at the NEC from 17th – 19th April.

Autumn Seminar Series Success

KTS will again be holding three one day seminars in October for KeySIGN,
KeyLINES and KeyACCIDENT. Each seminar provide delegates with an ideal

AutoCAD 2004 and Map 2004 are due for retirement on 15th March 2007. If your
Organisation still has copies of 2004 licences that are yet to be upgraded

Autumn Seminar Series Success
|
During October a series of seminars were held for KeySIGN, KeyLINES and
KeyACCIDENT. Each seminar lasted one day and gave attendees the opportunity to
learn various ‘tips & tricks’ to make the software they use on a daily basis
even more valuable.
Delegates marked the seminars as 4.2 out of 5 for there overall usefulness and
would recommend the seminars to colleagues. As a result these seminars will be
repeated in 2007 with a venue being added in Scotland for our many Scottish

KTS Formula Student Team Battle Through
|
|

This years Formula Student event took place at Bruntingthorpe between the 5th –
8th of July. An event that challenges University students from all over the
world to design, build, develop, market and compete as a team with a small
single seat racing car.
KTS were pleased to sponsor the class 1 entry from Aston University. The cars
are put through a series of challenging static and dynamic tests over the four

Over 300 Copies of KeyACCIDENT Sold
|
|
|
Key Traffic Systems are pleased to announce the sale of over 300 copies of
KeyACCIDENT the UK’s leading Road Traffic Accident analysis system software.
The 301st copy sold to Atkins is being used on several Highways Agency
contracts. Atkins use the full suite of modules including the Data Entry Module
for the entry and validation of accident data.
Mark Gregory at Atkins, Chelmsford office commented “We have been using
KeyACCIDENT at Chelmsford for the last 6 years, we find that KeyACCIDENT
provides us with a complete solution to analyse RTAs with data being provided by
different suppliers all over the country. We then use KeyACCIDENT to produce
graphical and textural reports that help us identify accident cluster sites. We
can then analyse common accident causes that help us to understand where changes
are required to reduce casualty rates.”
Local Authorities, Consultancies and Police Forces across the UK use KeyACCIDENT
to quickly locate RTA cluster sites and analyse the detail to identify common

|

KeySIGN has been launched as the new name for the long established KTS product
AutoSIGN, the leading most flexible sign design program. This change is also
reflected in the naming of KeySIGN Eire, the Irish version and KeySIGNBASE, the
sign asset management database software.
Changes coincide with the re-branding of KTS, positioning these products as
uniquely identifiable to KTS whilst complimenting the full range of ‘Leading
Edge Highways Software’.
KTS have worked hard to ensure that existing users will continue to receive

ParkCAD 2.0 Released
|
|
|
ParkCAD 2.0 is now available through KTS as sole UK dealers.
ParkCAD is a user-friendly CAD program that lets you generate conceptual parking
bay designs up to preliminary and final design layouts and also test "what-if"
scenarios in seconds.
ParkCAD's powerful database engine "remembers" your parking module parameters,
island properties, and other dimensional elements, and lets you instantly create
parking rows, customized stalls, and complete lots with just a few mouse clicks
without the need for tedious re-calculations or re-drafting. ParkCAD includes
reporting capabilities, which enable you to quickly and accurately estimate
stall counts and help with overall function facility design planning. And with
dynamic editing capabilities, changes can be made on-the-fly to module

|

KeyREGS 4 is the most powerful release of KTS’ Traffic Regulation Order (TROs)
software yet. With the advent of decriminalisation KTS took the decision to
completely rewrite KeyREGS from the ground up.
With the new KeyREGS you can:
- Create and maintain TROs easily
- Revoke, consolidate or amend items with automatically maintained revocation
schedules
- Keep track of changes and see which orders were in force on any date
- Use time-saving methods to enter areas to which items relate, while storing

Autodesk Retire AutoCAD 2002 Products
|
On 15th March 2006 Autodesk retired AutoCAD 2002 and the Map derivatives Map 5
and Map 6. This affects customers who have not managed to upgrade these
licenses, to the current version, as they will no longer have the opportunity to
do so directly.
If you have been unable to upgrade old Autodesk licenses KTS can help you
protect the investment made in these products by making use of the Legacy
Upgrade Programme. The Legacy Upgrade Programme allows you to purchase new
versions of Autodesk software at a discounted price based on legacy licenses. If
