KeyNETWORK provides transport planners with a comprehensive Transport Assessment
(TA) package designed to take users through the whole process from Network
Creation through to Report Generation.
KeyNETWORK provides facilities to produce all major aspects of a Transport
Assessment. This includes trip generation rates and regression data,
distribution models, network design, route generation, trip assignment options,
analysis and assessment through to comprehensive reports.
KeyNETWORK’s link/node model and tools keep track of changes to the network
automatically, allowing ‘what-if?’ scenarios to be tested quickly and easily.
Diagrams showing a wide variety of aspects of analysis can be included in the
reports. |

KeyNETWORK Highlights |
Holistic Approach: Takes a holistic approach to
Transport Assessment – a single package can be used for all major aspects of the
assessment. |
DMRB Guidlines: Adheres to the Design Manual
for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) guidelines |
Flexible:
Provides a flexible approach to Transport Assessment |
Comprehensive: Tracks changes across multiple
phases and assessment periods |

KeyNETWORK in Detail |
Network Creation |
Versatile Assessment |
The initial road network is created using the inbuilt graphical tools,
constructing nodes and (unidirectional) links. |
For a quick assessment, the default properties can be used, but for a more
detailed assessment, the properties of each node and link can be edited. This
includes the link length, speeds, observed flows, and – depending on the type of
link – the geometry as it approaches the node. |
Turning Counts |
Trip Distribution |
Where turning counts have been undertaken, this information can also be
included. The turning counts can be based on source flows, percentage flows or
estimated flows. This information can be quickly and easily added to the
network. |
Having created an existing network, the proposed development phases can be
generated. KeyNETWORK automatically bases this upon the existing network and the
result may then be edited, with connections maintained between the new and old
links where possible.
Once an entrance to the new development has been added, and entry and exit
points defined, routes to and from the development can be generated and traffic
distributed using one of a number of modelling options. |

Link Analysis |
Diagrams and Tables |
KeyNETWORK shows the analysis of the network as a whole or on a link by link
basis. Assessment may be for any particular date, for example the projected end
of the project or the design year |
Many different diagrams and tables may be selected and annotated for inclusion
in the report, this includes turning movement diagrams. |
Final Report |
Finally, a comprehensive report can be generated including all supplied data for
the project. |
