KeySIGN Eire Highlights |
|
|
|
All Types of Sign can be Designed:
KeySIGN Eire
provides the ability to create bilingual Direction (and Advance Direction), Map
Type, Route Confirmatory and Route Marker signs, Lane Destination signs etc.,
applying the correct border spacings and other rules according to the Traffic
Signs Manual. |
|
Bilingual Destination Gazetteer:
Provided by
the DoT/DoE, KeySIGN includes a comprehensive database of Irish destinations and
their official, translated name. These can be selected and positioned easily
with routes, or against map type symbols, to build any Direction Sign. |
|
|
|
Fully Coloured designs: Colour can quickly be
applied to the designs to allow for the layout to be checked for readability and
correctness, and also to provide professional, presentation quality drawings. |
|
Always up-to-date: The latest rules are applied
from the Traffic Signs Manual and updates are issued to comply with any changes
(with a valid Service Agreement). |
|
|
|
Manufacturing support:
KeySIGN Eire can be used by designers and manufacturers alike. Designs can be
cut directly from the AutoCAD design drawings cutting down on cost and
time-to-site installation. |
|
Eurocode Structural Design:
The optional KeyPOST provides for the design of the post and foundation
requirements for any sign or sign assembly, compliant with the new EN
12899-1:2007 Eurocode for fixed, vertical road traffic signs. Full reports and
transparent calculations can be printed for each design. |

Multiple Sign Assemblies |

Bilingual destinations and other text can be created from a place name
gazetteer, provided by the DoT and officially Irish language approved, and
presented in an easy to use dialog. A simple filter approach quickly narrows the
search down in just a few clicks. |
|
|
 |
Complete sign assemblies can be designed, even when the width of one sign
depends on another. Sign elements such as route text, arrows and symbols are
placed automatically, according to the TSM rules, within the sign border, for
example destinations ‘blocks’ ranged right for right turns, and ranged left for
left and straight ahead junction exits. This is shown here for a classic sign
assembly design for the junction of a National route with a Regional route. |

Many Rules Applied Automatically |
|
Professional CAD Based Design |
|
|
|
 |
Different sign types often have individual layout rules, and these dimensions
are applied automatically. Some signs can be built from dialog based entry, the
final layout being drawn out completely automatically by KeySIGN. Full design
details are shown individually for each completed sign, such as x-height, sign
width and height and sign colours. |
|
|
 |
Map type signs can be built effortlessly as the Rules in the Traffic Signs
Manual are applied automatically. Grade separated junction signs are created by
the simple placement of destinations and their associated route around a symbol
inserted from two clicks, and roundabout layouts are built individually using a
selection from just three commands, many needing only two commands. |

KeySIGN Eire continues to be used by the DoT and the NRA, and is the software of
choice in the preparation of the Working Drawings for signs prescribed in the
Traffic Signs Manual. In the KeySIGN UK is used by the DfT for the preparation
of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions and Chapters of the UK
Traffic Signs Manual. In addition our experience with bilingual signing extends
to working closely with the Welsh Assembly Government in the preparation of the
sign design rules for bilingual signs. |
